Certainly not a memorable Oscar show, but hardly unwatchable. Chris Rock will no doubt catch some flack for his Bush-bashing, but I don't think he ever came close to crossing the 'decency line'. Perhaps he wanted to demonstrate to folks that he could work pretty clean. I think he's a safe bet to get this gig again. The audience seemed to like him, except for the Sean Penn who needs to develop a thicker skin and a sense of humor.

No major surprises in the awards that I could see. Maybe those folks more knowledgable of the technical awards (sound editing, design, etc.) might quible, but the big awards seemed to go to those folks generally considered favorites.
