Just a hint to those working in libraries or thinking about it.

Do NOT tell a teenage patron that losing a Library Card will result in jail time!

While you may find it amusing, the patron does not always get the joke.

    I can't imagine someone finding that amusing. Was this "librarian " trying to connect with the patron? Many kids are very literal and don't get an adult's droll and not really very funny humor. I don't think you need to warn most librarians who have an ounce of sense from committing this faux pas.
